Workshop: A Seasonal Re-Set... |

Workshop: A Seasonal Re-Set... |

Sunday 29th Sept 2024, 10am - 2pm

High Peak Health Clinic,
New Mills Road SK22 2JG

Has going “back to school” felt like a bit of a bumpy ride this year? Maybe that back to school feeling has left you in a flurry of new projects, new practices and it’s all become a bit… much?

I’ve got you. This is a tricky time of year to navigate, and to do so while still making time for yourself isn’t always easy.

This workshop is intended to create a pause where we can soak up a fresh Autumn morning and set our intentions for the season to come. We’ll start with a meditation reflecting on how the season has begun, and think - in a gentle way - about how we would like it to progress. From there, we’ll move through a unravelling, unwinding flow yoga practice, pause for a beautifully nourishing brunch (all dietary requirements catered for) and then slip into the comfiest, cosiest restorative yoga practice you can imagine. We’ll end with a written-just-for-this-session yoga nidra, or yogic sleep, where we’ll focus on feeling grounded and deeply restful.

The cost of the morning is £55, including tea, coffee and fruit on arrival, brunch and a little treat to take home. Paying in instalments is absolutely fine, if you need to just let me know - no questions asked.

To book, use the button below to send me an email. I’ll come back to you with a confirmation to let you know you’re on the list.

Workshop: Embracing Autumn... |

Workshop: Embracing Autumn... |

Sunday 27th Oct 2024, 10am - 2pm

High Peak Health Clinic,
New Mills Road SK22 2JG

Here we are, in the heart of the season. Darker nights are creeping in, and spooky stories abound. The trees are dropping their leaves and everything is getting ready to go to ground, ready for a refresh next year.

In this workshop, we’ll be looking at what we can shed - like the trees - and what we might take with us as we go to ground during the cosy months.

We’re going to prioritise moving verrry slowly. We’ll start with a brew and a quiet, contemplative moment to see what you’re letting go of as the leaves fall. From there, we’ll move through a slow and gentle stretch which will end with some somatic movement and self-massage techniques (including a little seasonally-scented massage balm for you to take home). We’ll sit together for a warm and nourishing brunch (all dietary requirements catered for) and end our practice with deep rest in the form of restorative yoga and a bespoke yoga nidra, or yogic sleep.

The cost of the morning is £55, including tea, coffee and fruit on arrival, brunch and a massage balm to take home. Paying in instalments is absolutely fine, if you need to just let me know - no questions asked.

Workshop: A festive lie-down... |

Workshop: A festive lie-down... |

Sunday 24th Nov 2024, 10am - 2pm

High Peak Health Clinic,
New Mills Road SK22 2JG

Are you feeling ready to get merry? Or perhaps, you feel like you need a deep breath and a quiet lie-down before the countdown begins…

If that’s you: you are in the right place. This is going to be a workshop with a difference - we’ll spend almost all our time together lying the heck down. Think of this as your opportunity to brace, breathe and just be before switching on the lights for the most sparkling time of the year.

We’ll start with a brew and a catch up, before we settle in for a body scan meditation, to help us arrive and feel fully present. From there, we’ll move through some light stretching and gentle yoga shapes, all of them grounded on the floor, using props to support and aid us. We’ll pause for a warm and nourishing brunch (all dietary requirements catered for) and end our practice with several different restorative yoga versions of ‘savasana’, before settling into our favourite and savouring a bespoke yoga nidra, or yogic sleep.

The cost of the morning is £55, including tea, coffee and fruit on arrival, brunch and a treat to take home. Paying in instalments is absolutely fine, if you need to just let me know - no questions asked.

To book, use the button below to send me an email. I’ll come back to you with a confirmation to let you know you’re on the list.

Outdoor Yoga with the Tent People

Join me for outdoor yoga at the Tent People’s summer pop up.

This 90 minute session will flow from playful movement to deep rest, soundtracked by birdsong and the river.

Our 75 minute yoga practice will be playful, uplifting and accessible for all. Afterwards, join me for a drink (tea, coffee and cold drinks will be available) and a lovely sweet treat (included in your booking!).

You will need to bring a yoga mat, a bottle of water and a blanket. If there are any other yoga props you know you like to use, please bring those as well.

The weather is not always predictable, and is of course subject to change. Our session will be held under shelter so we can go ahead even in the drizzle, but I suggest wearing layers that you can easily move in, so you can add warmer clothes and take them away as you need. I think warm socks are a must for our final relaxation!

Tea, coffee, smoothies and cake will be available to purchase from the bar after class - please feel free to join me afterwards for a cuppa.

Find out more about the Tent People’s summer events here.

Sweet Self-Care: a yoga & massage workshop to fill your cup

Join me for an afternoon workshop of deep rest and sweet self-care.

Our workshop will begin with gentle somatic movement & breath exercises to allow us to feel our way into the body. These movements and gentle breathing exercises will allow us to get to grips with some of the key facts about Polyvagal Theory - a school of thought that suggests we can understand - and influence - our nervous system state through what’s happening in the body. From here we'll move into self-massage techniques - using my homemade scented wonder balm. Then, we’ll sink into a luxurious 90 minutes of deep rest in the form of restorative yoga & guided meditation.

As always, our workshop will end with tea, a sweet treat and a lovely goody bag.

No yoga experience is needed, the workshop will be suited to all levels.

The cost of the workshop is £35, including your tea, sweet treat and goody bag.

Our day will look something like this:*

10am - let’s gather, and set our intentions while we enjoy a homemade Ayurvedic tea brewed on The Yoga Tent’s wood-burning stove.

10.30am - we will begin to move our bodies with a sunshine-welcoming vinyasa flow practice that will gradually wind down and end with some soothing self-massage practices.

11.45am - we will sit down together to enjoy brunch provided for us by the lovely, local Sett Valley Cafe.

12.30pm - we will sink into a deeply soothing restorative yoga practice, followed by a yoga nidra meditation written especially for this moment.

Family Yoga in the Secret Garden

Join me for outdoor family yoga in the Secret Garden.

The Secret Garden, in Little Hayfield, is a private walled garden which catches the sun beautifully around mid-morning, making it the perfect spot to come together for some playful family yoga.

Our yoga session will last approximately 45 minutes, but I allow an hour so there is time to explore and then settle into the space. We will learn some fun yoga poses (usually related to a theme - think animals, transports, outer space and dinosaurs!) and then play some yoga games.

Sessions are suitable for children of all ages, and I will do my best to make sure there is something fun going on for every age group in attendance. I don’t set a lower age limit, because you know your little ones best and you know whether or not they’re likely to have fun. Younger siblings are always very welcome, even if they might just want to watch the action.

You will need to bring yoga mats for your family (if you have any - but don’t worry if not, I have spares!), any snacks and drinks you might need and a blanket. I don’t mind at all if little ones are distracted during the practice, and they don’t need to participate in every aspect. If you think their attention might wander, they are welcome to bring extra activities as needed.

Please note you are responsible for your kiddos throughout the practice, so you will need to stay and take part in the session alongside them.

The weather is not always predictable, and is of course subject to change - as long as the weather is dry and fair, we will go ahead. I suggest wearing layers that you can easily move in, so you can add warmer clothes and take them away as you need. In the event of rain, I will cancel the event and you will receive a full refund.

The session is £10 per adult attending with one child. Each extra child is an extra £2 - each adult is free to bring as many children as they feel they can be responsible for!
